Soho has always been home to some of the capital’s best restaurants, from internationally renowned, Michelin-starred eateries to neighbourhood joints that started life as humble food trucks. Greek Street, in particular, offers a real mix of culinary experiences; one of these is pan-Asian fusion restaurant Gamma Gamma, which opened its doors in September this year.
The deal was secured by leading hospitality experts, Restaurant Property, and brings a little exoticism to the strip, with tapas-style dishes featuring ingredients from around the world. The menu includes adventurous items such as zebra loin tataki with charred grapes, sake-cured egg, sriracha jelly and orange blossom labneh, and kangaroo steak "tagalog", which is a Filipino-style steak marinated in soy, kalamansi, garlic, black pepper, and caramelised onion, and served with garlic chips
The interiors match the bold menu, with industrial fixtures, colourful murals and polished floors and table tops. The ground floor and basement site comes to 1,722 sq. ft. and the name is a play on the address: Gamma is the third letter in the Greek alphabet and two gammas make a six, hence its address at 6 Greek Street.
Restaurant Property has long been the go-to for deals such as this due to their excellent connections in the industry and exceptional service. They have access to some of the best off-market properties, including restaurants, pubs, bars and hotels. Clients range from award-winning fast-casual concepts to Michelin-starred celebrity chefs. Amongst them is celebrated French chef, Claude Bosi, who said: "Restaurant Property represented me on the recent sale of my restaurant, Hibiscus in Mayfair. The service I received was impeccable and the results excellent. Restaurant Property possesses everything a vendor requires; discretion, honesty and reliability."
Speaking on the Gamma Gamma deal, Restaurant Property Surveyor, Danielle Agami, said: "We're delighted that we were able to secure such a prominent site in the heart of Soho for the owners of Gamma Gamma and believe that it is a fantastic addition to Soho’s bustling food scene with such an imaginative menu, sleek interior and bustling ambience."
