Hot New Opening - Mercato Metropolitan, Mayfair

Beginning their journey as a pilot project in 2015 at the World Expo in Milan, they stood out for retaining the sites original appearance (a disused railway station) and preserving history.

Mercato opened its first permanent site in a disused paper factory in Elephant & Castle, London in 2016. This site is home to more than 40 vendors, where you can experience locally sourced dishes from around the world, alongside a microbrewery and a number of community projects.

Following its success, Mercato has just opened the doors to its second site, based in a Grade I listed former church. It has undergone extensive restoration in Mayfair, offering various retail, dining and community space over 16,000 sq ft. Features include an outdoor terrace, multiple bars, a food market, cookery school and so much more.

The Restaurant Property team recommend this unique new addition to the West End. Not only is Mercato bringing flavours from all around the world, but it is offering the public a chance to experience this stunning church, that has been given a new lease of life and is now re-open to the public.
