5 Unmissable Industry Events in 2020

The UK offers a plethora of brilliant annual events for those already part of the restaurant industry and anyone eager to learn more. Whether you want to rub elbows and make connections, discover new innovations and watch demonstrations or sample suppliers and business service providers, there is a show, expo or conference out there for you. 

 

Hotel, Restaurant & Catering Show

When: 3 - 5 March

Where: ExCel London

What: HRC is split into four shows: The Foodservice Show, The Professional Kitchen Show, Interiors and Tabletop Show and Hospitality Tech Show. There’s something for professionals in every area of hospitality and food service including a broad range of suppliers and business service providers to meet with. This year’s show will have a strong emphasis on sustainability and UK-produced beverages.  

 

R200 Conference and Study Tour

When: 12 March

Where: The Curtain, London

What: Established 10 years ago by Restaurant Magazine, the R200 club is comprised of the top multi-site restaurant groups from across the UK. The Conference and Study Tour will offer the chance to hear from various different speakers from across the sector, who will share anecdotes and insight before attendees embark on a tour of the London dining scene, complete with plenty of stops for food and drink. 

 

Food & Drink Expo

When: 30 March - 1 April

Where: NEC Birmingham

What: An out-of-London contender that contains five shows covering the UK food supply chain. It is the official trade show for The Grocer magazine and organisers are expecting 30k attendees, 1500 exhibitors, 250 speakers and 100 live events. If you are looking for upcoming brands and new names, this is the show to attend. 

 

The Allergy and Free From Show

When: 3 - 5 July

Where: ExCel London

What: A very 2020 addition to the restaurant industry calendar, this “free-from” show is designed to give a platform to the thousands of products aimed at those living with food allergies. Some exhibitor names you will recognise and others you won’t, and these will be interspersed with cooking classes, seminars, expert advice, skin consultations, live music and more.

 

The Restaurant Show

When: 28 - 30 September

Where: Olympia London

What: One of the year’s most well-attended industry networking events, this show is made up of live demos, exhibitor stands and a varied pool of speakers. It also features a Bar & Pub and Catering Equipment Expo, as well as their notorious Competition Theatre that pits industry professionals against each other.
