History

Founded by Director David Rawlinson, we have come a long way since 2000 when we only carried out acquisitions for independent operators.

 

Over the following few years, this network of a handful of buyers grew to many of the well-known high street restaurant chains.  Acquisitions for Nando’s, Strada, Pizza Express, Byron, The Restaurant Group, Zizzi, and Prezzo and many others followed.

Restaurant Property was originally based in Chiswick then relocated to Central London in 2008. With the move came a shift in focus for the business going forward. The primary focus became high-end operators and international groups seeking flagship locations and being based in W1 became an essential part of the business going forward.

With the increase in success, our sales side grew rapidly, and we moved from Paddington Street to larger offices on Marylebone’s Fitzhardinge Street, conveniently located to such prestigious eateries as Chiltern Firehouse, Orrery, Fishers, Ivy Cafe and Trishna all in the area.

Almost 20 years since our founding, Restaurant Property are proud to have represented companies including Grosvenor Estates Mayfair, Shaftsbury Estates, Legal and General, The Portman Estate, Marriott Hotels, and Stanhope.

And our extensive book of clients doesn’t end there; having also worked with Gordon Ramsay Holdings, Roka, Zuma, Pied a Terre, Simon Rogan, Atul Kochhar, Adam Handling, Clare Smyth, Goodmans, Caprice Holdings, Mark Wahlberg, D and D London, Conran, Gymkhana, Angela Hartnett, Claude Bosi, and The Roux family.

Now a leading West End practice, we’ve grown our team’s offerings to include not only the sales and acquisitions of all types of leisure and hospitality properties but also rent reviews and lease renewals. Part of the vision for Restaurant Property involves the type of people employed - only those with a personal interest in the sector.
