We are honoured to support Action Against Hunger, a global charity fighting to build a world where no one dies from hunger.

We match-fund donations made by our clients to this vital organisation. As of December 2022, Restaurant Property has donated thousands of pounds to Action Against Hunger, and we are very proud to continue growing this amount to such a good cause.

Active in 51 countries, Action Against Hunger have delivered their life-saving programme to more than 26 million people. In 2021 alone, they provided relief for 55 emergencies across 21 countries.

How do they tackle hunger?

Action Against Hunger delivers their life-saving programmes through three different strategies: prediction, prevention and treatment. 

They utilise revolutionary early warning systems to spot potentially life-threatening bouts of famine, so that they can step-in before the potentially crippling effects take hold. Using state-of-the-art satellites and AI to detect water and crops, which are sent directly to farmers, they can identify the best grazing land for their animals. 

Much of Action Against Hunger’s work is involved in tackling the underlying causes of hunger and malnutrition. These preventative measures prioritise communities having access to clean water. Not only will this provide clean drinking water for the people, the livestock will also have access to clean water and the crops can be watered. By utilising the latest in crop technology, Action Against Hunger are helping farmers to grow drought-resistant crops. By teaching farmers how to vaccinate their livestock, Action Against Hunger is helping to sustainably improve the outlook for communities across the world.

As not every famine can be predicted or prevented, Action Against Hunger also treats hunger and helps children to recover from severe malnutrition. Specialist nutrition centres enable health workers to deliver the treatment where it is needed the most. The Action Against Hunger scientists have developed a nutrient-rich F1000 formula that can be used if the mother is also malnourished. 

When diagnosed on time and with the correct treatment, a child can be saved from malnutrition in just six weeks.
